If you are visiting for the first time welcome! Today, I want to share a fun recipe for Eye Cream Sticks using mostly organic ingredients.

First you will need to gather the following ingredients and tools.

  • Sterile pipette
  • Glass Pyrex container
  • Pot to boil water
  • Glass stir rod
  • Gloves (optional but recommended when handling pure essentials oils)
  • 1 oz Meadowfoam Seed Oil
  • .4 oz Unrefined Organic Coconut oil
  • .20 oz Beeswax
  • .25 oz Shea Butter
  • .25 oz Vitamin E oil
  • 4 drops Rosehip Seed oil (use pipette here)
DIY Eye Stick

First we want to create a type of double boiler using our pot, some water, and a glass Pyrex container. To do this, simply take your pot and add about an inch of water inside it. Next, turn the stove on using medium heat. If the water starts to boil at any point, turn the temperature down. We don't want to boil the ingredients as it can alter there natural properties. Using a medium temperature, we should be able to sufficiently melt the ingredients.

You will then place a glass Pyrex container in a pot of water and add Meadowfoam Seed Oil, Coconut Oil, and Beeswax. We add only these ingredients first as we do not want to lose the beneficial healing properties of the other natural oils and Shea butter as those do not take as much time or heat to melt into our mixture.

Once current ingredients are almost completely melted, add Shea butter, Vitamin E oil, and Rosehip Seed oil. Again, check the water to make sure it is not boiling. If it is, turn it down and then add these ingredients.

When all ingredients are finally melted, remove from heat and pour into the lip balm tubes.

Because beeswax is used, while you are waiting for the eye cream sticks to set, be sure to immediately wipe out the glass Pyrex and wipe off your stirring rod. This will make cleaning those items significantly easier.

I recommend keeping your tubes in the refrigerator to extend the shelf life of them as well as keep them from getting too soft. I just love the consistency of these! The best part is how great these smell and how nourishing they are. Enjoy!

*This recipe makes about 10 tubes of Eye cream sticks.
