Today I am writing to you from a place that I do not find myself very often. A place that finds me feeling raw, vulnerable, and exhausted. While I am not afraid of this place I am still very cautious of how I explore it. Here I share a few essential oils for the weary heart.

Lately it seems I have spent much of my energy helping others around me. Don’t get me wrong. I truly love being able to help others whether that consists of providing a listening ear, providing energetic strength, or anything else I feel will help others.

With all of my efforts that I have exhausted in helping others, I have found myself at the end of this week completely and utterly exhausted. I know I have given as much as I can to help others and have tried to be a beacon of love, strength, hope, understanding, and empathy... But my heart is still breaking.

The Unrest Everyone Is Feeling

There is so much unrest lately. This unrest has led to the various groups within our country, our state, and local communities. This division is carried out more by all of us not being able to really meet each other in the middle and be open or understanding to what the other has to say.

So I ask you, please take a step back for a moment, breathe in deeply, and focus on being open and understanding to others. Nyssa Hanger recently spoke at the AIA conference I attended and her words about open dialogue could not be more true today.

We are all humans and all have something so very unique and special to offer each other. Let us use our knowledge of essential oils to help us open our hearts and our minds to each other so that we can see our goals are one and the same. To help others.

Essential Oils for the Weary Heart

Essentials Oils to Uplift and Soothe the Weary Heart

When searching through my emotions, I feel a sense of sadness related to my need to make everyone feel happy. As a Leo, when everyone else is happy, I am really happy and content. In some situations though, I am just not able to help everyone...

I can do something to help myself though with the use of essential oils. In fact, this morning I actually put myself first for a change and created a blend to soothe, uplift, and quell the anxiety of my own from feeling the raw exhaustion  of “being the empath of the world” as my energetic mentor calls it.

The Blend

Petitgrain Bigarade (Citrus aurantium L. ssp. amara engl): This essential oil is often used in anxiety blends and is very soothing. Marge Clark has mentioned using this for “monkey brain” as well. With my mind needing quieting, this essential oil is perfect to aid in that.

Patchouli (Pogostemon Cablin): This is an essential oil that I have absolutely been smitten with lately. It is very grounding and somehow connects with my soul on a level that I have not yet even begun to understand. To me, I find a sense of protectiveness when using this particular essential oil - almost masculine in nature but tempered with warmth and love. It also tempers the Egyptian geranium quite well! If you want to know what a well formulated essential oil blend smells like with Patchouli, you should try my Balance or better yet, take a class with Sylla Sheppard-Hanger. Her perfume is amazing!

Geranium (Pelargonium graveolens): This essential oil has always held a very special place in my heart. It was one of the first essential oils I really worked in depth with. It is heart opening, uplifting, soothing for emotional distress, and cooling. It is a divinely feminine essential oil that offers balancing attributes that tempers the patchouli well and vice versa. Gabriel Mojay discusses it extensively in his book Aromatherapy Healing for the Spirit - I highly recommend it if you are exploring the energetics of essential oils.

Rhododendron (Rhododendron anthopogon): This essential oil is all about letting go. Letting go of anything that does not serve you from anger and sadness to both small and large energetic concerns. It is a very protective essential oil although quite feminine. Its energetics remind me of a fierce goddess who will protect what she must and let go of the rest. There is also something soft and soothing about this oil that calls to me when emotions become raw.

Orange (Citrus sinensis): When I am feeling down, this essential oil is always there to help pick me up. It is an energetically happy one that exudes protection, gratitude, strength, and self love. For an essential oil that seems so innocent, it is one that I could never be without. Today, it helps round my blend out to create a space that allows for me to work through things that I have struggled with as of late.

The Name

I hope the essential oils I mention above inspire you to dig deep, feel what you are feeling, accept those feelings and move into a more positive space filled with hope, love and abundance.

With love for your weary heart and mine,

Lola
