Who loves a fantastic moisturizing body butter that is great for the skin? I know I do! I have been using this anhydrous recipe for a while and wanted to take an opportunity to share it with you because I love it that much. I am also including a blend of essential oils that are skin soothing. After all, it is our largest and most important defensive organ!

Here is a list of things you will need before you begin:

  • 1 Pot
  • 1 Pyrex container with a handle
  • 1 Glass stir rod
  • 1 Kitchen scale
  • 1 Pair of gloves (I prefer nitrile, especially if I am working with essential oils)
  • 3 Small containers for ingredients
  • 1 Two ounce jar & lid
  • Oven glove

Organic beeswax

Here are the ingredients that you will need for this recipe:

Directions:

Add about 1-1.5 inches of water into your pot and set the heat on your stove to a medium.

Next put on your gloves and weigh your coconut oil, beeswax, and cocoa butter in the small containers. The essential oils do not need to be measured out so leave them off to the side. Weigh your jojoba oil in the Pyrex that you will be using.

Once the jojoba is weighed, place the Pyrex into the pot of near boiling water and add your beeswax.

Using a glass stir rod, you can stir the beeswax and jojoba occasionally until both are completely combined.

Once your first two ingredients are combined, add your cocoa butter, turn off the heat, and continue stirring continually.

When the cocoa butter is almost completely liquid, add the coconut oil and continue stirring until it changes as well.

At this point, remove the Pyrex from the water and dry the bottom using the oven glove as it may be warm. If you want to add the essential oils, do so immediately stirring them into the product.

Since this is specifically made for just one container, make sure you move quickly from the time you remove the Pyrex from heat and add your essential oils so it does not start setting in the Pyrex. Pour the product into your 2 ounce container and immediately cover.

Covering the product keeps the essential oil's more volatile components from evaporating. If you are not using essential oils you can just leave the product open as it cools. This entire process takes maybe 5-10 minutes and is very easy to do.
