I won't "sell" you essential oils...

Some would say that I am the worst sales person. Why? Because I won’t sell you essential oils that will make you skinny because you put a drop in your water. I won’t sell you essential oils that will get rid of your eczema. I won’t sell you essential oils that will cure cancer. I won’t sell you any essential oils that will cure or prevent any disease.

I won’t sell you essential oils that do these things because this type of information is based on twisted pseudoscience that is completely myth. These myths and many more were only created for one purpose. That purpose is to SELL product. 

I don't know how many of you can appreciate what I am about to say, but I can tell you this. It is the truth about my feelings and it doesn't get any more honest than this. 

Please understand, this may be a little long but is not meant to hurt anyone's feelings. They are just my truths....

TRUTH: I am not one for fancy marketing spiels or hype. 

WHY: When it comes to essential oils, as long as they are pure and I can help you find what will work for YOU, I don't want to mess with those ideals. I have found that using spiels and hype that it does NOT help my clients be truly educated or empowered but instead creates a cult mentality that does not help anyone!

TRUTH: I am not one to say my company is better than any other company. 

WHY: This type of marketing tactic doesn't give me the "feels" the way that really trying to help someone does. Additionally, it is in my honest opinion just a tactic to help individuals sell product versus really help people. And if these two reasons aren't enough, here is a bigger truth. While I would LOVE for my company to have better sales, I know there is not any one single company out there that offers essential oils that everyone will love. This is why many individuals use several different companies...after all only "your nose knows you best."

TRUTH: It drives me crazy to see people sharing unsafe practices regarding essential oils!

WHY: It isn’t just because I care! I have seen first hand and heard too many stories about babies, kids, elderly folks and even healthy adults getting hurt from using essential oils unsafely because someone else said "only (insert company name here) offers pure essential oils and because they are so pure, you can use them undiluted and ingest them..." Guys, if you have never seen a photo of a baby or toddler with nasty burns from essential oils being applied undiluted, be glad. These types of things truly bring me to tears.

TRUTH: If you ask me if you can use essential oils internally, I will not give you an easy answer. It may potentially be one that you do not like either....

WHY: Even though my essential oils are pure and are of the highest quality, unless you know someone trained in aromatic medicine, ingesting essential oils is not as easy as adding them to water because they do not mix. There is a time and place for internal use of essential oils, but adding them to water is not how to do it. It should make sense that there is some formulation knowledge required when you can see on your own that water and essential oils don’t mix... There is so much more involved-I wrote a blog explain much of this that might help you if you have questions.

The BOTTOM LINE: Essential oils can be extremely helpful for many things. Emotionally, physically, and spiritually, essential oils can be wonderful tools to nourish and soothe us. However, they do have limitations. While I respect an individual's choice to use essential oils how they choose to, I am honest with my consumers and clients. I will not use anything less than factual information to sell my products. I will not wade into the myths just to sell a product. It isn't fair to either of us.

For all of these reasons and more, I went to school to learn about aromatherapy. Even now, I continue my education through workshops around the country and in self-study because I am that passionate about it.

I currently use what I have learned to separate the fiction from the facts. More importantly, I am helping people to use essential oils in a balanced way and for the right reasons. 

If you are coming to me for a cure or a preventative for a specific disease using essential oils, I am truly sorry because I can’t help you no matter how much I really, really want to. Neither can Nancy Nextdoor who is telling you that essential oils can do these miraculous things.
