Aroma: This is a very energetic pink grapefruit oil that has hints of sweet smelling roses on top of its cool and fresh, citrus aroma. It works well as a top note in many blends.
Personal notes: I love diffusing this in blends for emotional and hormonal support. It adds a sweet and uplifting aspect to many blends. When I think about and smell this particular oil, I visualize happy children playing in the sun.
Safety Data: May cause skin irritation, especially if the oils is older and oxidized. Use in low dilution when applying to the skin, such as in baths or massage oils. According to Essential Oil Safety, by Robert Tisserand, Grapefruit is phototoxic, and limit topical use to 4% when used in a blend (24 maximum drops per ounce).
Usage ideas: Create your own uplifting and balancing blend for diffusing.
- 2 drops of Geranium
- 3 drops of Grapefruit
Emotional/Energetic Qualities: Uplifting, cleansing, highly energetic, reduces tension, exudes joyful, outward energy.
Recommended applications: Diffuse, topical application using safe dilution ratios, steam inhalation.
- Old or oxidized grapefruit essential oils can cause irritation.
- This oil should be used at no more than 0.4% in blends to avoid phototoxicity.
- Do not place on broken skin.
