About the distiller: The distiller is well known for his bergamot and offers both a certified organic steam distilled (FCF) and a cold pressed bergamot. He and his family own his small farm where he crafts small batches of bergamot, lemon, mandarin (red), and one other variety. His products are often unmatched because of the care he takes in creating each batch of essential oil.
Aroma: IF you love Red Mandarin, you will love this petitgrain! It is sweet, fresh, citrusy, and full of tangy energy. While it smells deliciously delightful, the aromatic hints of floral top notes make it quite soothing.
Personal Notes: Last year when my distiller sent me this sample I wasn’t sure I would ever love it. But as the essential oil opened and matured, I have found that it is one that I truly enjoy for my own personal emotional wellness. It took me six months to really get to know and appreciate this particular oil and what it can offer. From using it in acneic formulations to emotional and soothing blends, this oil has quickly become a favorite of mine.
Safety Data: This essential oil is considered phototoxic. This oil does have a very low percentage of furanocoumarins that should be noted when blending with other phototoxic essential oils. Otherwise non-toxic, though it CAN cause skin irritation if oxidized. Always use in low dilution (0.14%) when applying to the skin.
